Triad Technos

FLL 71079 · Greensboro, NC

We started an FLL team from nothing — found a coach, interviewed members, ran parent info nights, ordered sets, and mentored them from basic Spike code to competition-ready programs. They competed at the Cannon High School qualifier.

Kids Knight Out

Kids Knight Out

Museum of Life & Science

We demonstrate the robot to classes of twenty young students, explain the mechanisms, and let them drive it through interactive games. The questions kept coming, so we now host monthly sessions.

Brazil · Romania

We reached out to ParaTech (#9302) in Brazil and BraveBots (#19141) and Brute Force (#22491) in Romania over Instagram, then ran introductions, design reviews, and programming exchanges after the five-week scrimmage.

Open House

Open House

with the ZebraCorns, FRC 900

On FRC Kickoff day we co-hosted an open house for students, prospective FIRST members, and families — we let people drive our robot and presented on how to get into FTC.

Family STEM event

We presented the robot and our season to local families, connected students with FIRST sign-ups, and found heavy interest in a one-to-two week technical skills summer camp.

Bull City FLL · Raleigh Qualifier

We judged at the Bull City FLL Scrimmage and worked the 3rd Southeast Raleigh qualifier as pit runners, judging queuers, field attendants, and field resetters.

Sustainability

Built to outlast
every roster.

Half the team graduates every year. These are the systems that keep what we know from leaving with them.

  1. 01

    Recruitment

We run a booth at the NCSSM club fair with live robot demos, recruit through Instagram and LinkedIn, collect interest through a sign-up form, and interview every applicant. Members of any experience level are welcome — this season brought in ten.

  2. 02

    Robot in 5 Weeks

At the Ri5W scrimmage our seniors step back. New members design, build, and program a robot end to end while seniors mentor with guidance rather than answers. Our last Ri5W bot placed 5th in qualification matches, and its stick transfer became V1 of our States robot.

  3. 03

    Knowledge continuity

Detailed documentation carries what we know through each year's turnover. New members train in CAD, programming, and outreach, earn NCSSM Fabrication Lab certification, and get hands-on ownership of real decisions.

  4. 04

    Sustainable funding

Support from NCSSM, our mentors, and foundation grants, including the Gene Haas Foundation, funds the program. We spend it carefully so the team stays strong year after year.
